Things to do on the day of
Jumu'ah
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
We pray you all have a blessed Jumu’ah, the best day of the week.
Let us increase in good deeds to invite Allah Ta’ala’s mercy on the Ummah.
Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah has made this day of Friday a celebration for the Muslims. Whoever comes to Friday prayer, let him bathe himself, apply perfume if he has it, and use the toothstick.”
Source: Sunan Ibn Mājah 109
عن ابن عباس قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: (إن هذا يوم عيد جعله الله للمسلمين، فمن جاء الجمعة فليغتسل، وإن كان عنده طيب فليمس منه، وعليكم بالسواك)، وهذا معناه نفس المعنى في الحديث السابق، وزيادة: أن يوم الجمعة يوم عيد.
Send an abundance of
Durood Upon Nabi ﷺ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Increase your ṣalāh upon me on the day and night of Jumuʿah. Whoever invokes ṣalāh upon me once, Allah will bestow ṣalāh upon him ten times.” (Bayhaqī)
‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is the leader of all mankind and Jumu’ah is the leader of all days. Thus, sending salah upon him on this day has a distinction and superiority which no other day has.’ (Ibn al-Qayyim)
يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا نودي للصلاة من يوم الجمعة فاسعوا إلى ذكر الله
Perform All Salah
يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا نودي للصلاة من يوم الجمعة فاسعوا إلى ذكر الله
Recite Surah Kahf
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever reads Sūrah al-Kahf on Jumu‘ah will have a light that shines for him between the two Jumu‘ahs.” (Hākim)
