Standing Up, Speaking Out

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

In life we face different circumstances and sometimes we have to fight for our rights and what we want.

When there is a situation that only affects us, then we have a choice to stand up and speak out or do sabr. Sabr in such circumstances is preferred. It is, many a time, the best choice.

But when circumstances involve oppression, mistreatment, and misguidance of others, in those circumstances we have to stand up and speak out. Staying silent will no longer be an option if we are able to help others.

This is what we learn from the life of Nabi ﷺ. In matters that involved himself he practised patience, for example when his uncle, Hadhrat Hamza رضي الله عنه was martyred. But in those matters that involved Islam, he was out spoken and when needed, took action.

May Allah سبحانه وتعالى strengthen our Imaan so that we don’t close our eyes to all the fitnah and oppression around us and may Allah سبحانه وتعالى make us from amongst His lions.

Aameen
